Book a ConsultationSafety Considerations
Before treatment — We begin with a consultation and assessment of the treatment area, planning for a natural, refined result rather than a dramatic change. We review your health history and the medications and supplements you take, including blood thinners and any recent botulinum toxin treatment.
Safety basics — Temporary swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site is common and usually resolves on its own. We review your medical history and medications before treatment. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Individual results and duration of results may vary. Outcomes are not guaranteed.
Recovery & follow-up — Downtime is minimal to none, and most patients return to usual activities right away. We typically reassess patients at 2 weeks after their first treatment to evaluate response and fine-tune results when appropriate.
Aftercare
- Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas for the remainder of the day.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (such as saunas or hot yoga), and alcohol for the rest of the day to help minimize swelling or bruising.
- You may gently cleanse your face and apply makeup as usual unless otherwise directed by your provider.
What to expect with Dysport® — Dysport® results develop gradually and are typically noticeable within several days, with full results seen around 2 weeks after treatment. Temporary unevenness or mild asymmetry may occur while the product takes effect and typically improves as the treatment settles.
When to Contact Our Office — Please contact our office if you experience unusual or worsening symptoms, significant pain, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, or any concerns that feel outside the expected recovery process.
Personalized aftercare — Your provider will review personalized aftercare recommendations based on your treatment areas, goals, and medical history.
Less common side effects — Temporary eyelid or brow drooping, or dry, irritated eyes.
Retreatment — Not performed more often than every 3 months, consistent with product labeling.
