Botox And Dysport
What Are Botox And Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators that are used to significantly reduce moderate to severe wrinkles such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. It is also used to prevent early wrinkles and fine lines from becoming permanent. It is the purified form of botulinum toxin A, which has been FDA approved for cosmetic use to reduce wrinkles. Botox and Dysport are injectable treatments that target the contraction of a muscle and decreases movement which leads to fine lines and wrinkles over time. There are many brands but the most popular are Botox and Dysport, which are very similar products and both provide the same desired result, the appearance of smoother, younger-looking skin.
How Do Botox And Dysport Work?
Over time, contraction (frowning, squinting, smiling) of the muscles leads to more pronounced wrinkles and fine lines in the skin. To improve this, we need a substance to prevent the contraction of the muscle. When injected, Botox and Dysport directly target the nerve signals blocking the ability of the muscle to contract. The results from Botox and Dysport injections can take 5- 14 days to be noticed and can last about 3-4 months.
